According to the group 2 paper "Soft news concentrates more on the specifics of the news," Soft news in general is news that, in terms of writing structure, is generally more flexible, dynamic, and, in terms of substance, is not as heavy as other news. Soft news in general is not too direct, rigorous, or strict, especially in terms of time, and it does not rapidly get stale and may be read at any time.

The "News Gathering and Interviewing: Conducting the Interview" paper in Group 3 reads, "Use the Was and H to build pertinent questions that will get the subject to open up with you." In Group 6's paper and PPT titled "Writing a Personality Profile and a News Feature," I learned that a personality profile, also known as a profile, is an in-depth look at a person's lifestyle, qualities, feelings, interests, looks, achievement, success, or challenges overcome in life. Rather than merely the person's ideas, this sort of feature provides intriguing facts about the person's life. Meanwhile, the news feature is your normal essay in which facts, events, or processes are stated and supplemented by historical explanations of occurrence, the nature of the case, the process of its construction, and how it operates. Both have their own structure, stages, and information lists that must be written.

Synopsis (My thoughts: what I learned) 7

Journalists are continually on the lookout for compelling stories that are in the public interest, according to their group 1 document "A matter of facts: The News Values and Elements." Their understanding of news values will help them to choose articles that will increase their circulation or media ratings. Those in charge of setting the news agenda are frequently referred to as "gatekeepers." Gatekeeping occurs at several levels, including the owner of the newspaper or broadcast station, the editor, and top journalists. Reporters at the bottom of the food chain will make similar decisions when deciding who to interview and what parts of their responses to include in their story.
